About Richard Haines

Focal Length:7.5mm
Shutter:1/0 sec

In 1997, Richard Haines received his BFA degree from Sir Wilfred Grenfell College’s School of Fine Arts specializing in Painting and Photography. In 2000, he received his B.Ed. from the University of Prince Edward Island. He has worked as a photographer for theatre groups, schools, university newspapers as well as a number of other freelance ‘gigs’ and is now an art and photography teacher in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

The theme of this blog is not new, and there are far too many people out there doing the same thing right now to hope that it could be in any way unique. But whether there is one, or a thousand people doing it, the creative act is always worthwhile. And fun, let’s not forget fun.

The main point here though, is that rather than use any of my expensive or precise cameras, I use a fairly stubborn little digital camera tha fits in my pocket and doesn’t cost a tenth of my normal camera. The focus, for lack of ability to control anything else, is composition. I don’t even own a copy of photoshop.
